JULY 16, 2008 MINUTES

A regular meeting of VCB was held at the Verona Town Hall on July 16, 2008. The meeting convened at 7:03pm with presidents Diane Wixson and Bobby Drury presiding.

Present: Mary Egan, Diane Wixson, Bobby Drury, David Hornung, Randy Wixson, Doug Sommerfeld and Cara Walker.

I. Old Business
A. May 22nd minutes approved by Randy Wixson and seconded by Mary Egan.
B. Treasurer’s Report, Mary Egan, Treasurer. Approved by Randy Wixson, second by David Hornung.
C. Safety Committee meeting feedback
-Committee wants VCB to pay Public Works and Police Dept. for their assistance with the festival. Randy and Mary will work with Committee and report back.

II. New Business
A. Storage of files
-Mary Egan will store the VCB file cabinet at State Bank of Cross Plains

B. Nominations postponed due to lack of attendance

C. Donation Ideas -Scholarships for high school -Food pantry -EMS and Fire Dept. -Sponsor a local college student and help with books, computer or other educational needs.

D. Motion made by Randy Wixson to make a donation to all organizations that participated in the Festival and whom pay their participation fee prior to Aug. 16th. The donation will be equal to the participation fee rounded to the nearest $100. Doug Sommerfeld seconded the motion.

E. Bobby Drury will continue with mail and website until new officers elected.

F. Possible Sumo wrestling for next year. Suits cost $800.00 per weekend.
